5 Reasons to Call a Professional Refrigerator Repair Service

When you feel there's a problem with your refrigerator, you know to take action quickly to save your food from spoiling and to potentially prevent a more serious problem from occuring with this vital appliance. Sometimes you may get lucky and discover an easy-fix solution, but that's not always the case. Here are five reasons to call a professional refrigerator repair service.

It Stops Working

Check to see if the light turns on inside of the refrigerator. If the light does not turn on, check behind the refrigerator to make sure it is plugged in correctly. It's actually not uncommon to find the plug to be not inserted properly, causing your refrigerator to not work.

It Starts Making a Strange Noise It's normal to hear some sounds coming from your refrigerator now and then, especially when your ice maker is producing ice. You're used to what this sounds like. However, if you start hearing noises that are out of the ordinary for your refrigerator, it requires some attention. Abnormal sounds include high-pitch screeching, banging, knocking or clicking. These could be signs of trouble for your refrigerator; it could be the fan or a more serious issue going on with the compressor. These kinds of repairs are potentially dangerous and require calling a refrigerator repair specialist to take care of the problem.

There's a Burning Smell

When there is a burning smell coming from your refrigerator, it is a serious concern and should be addressed immediately. Call a specialist right away.

It's Not Cooling Enough Sometimes the temperature your refrigerator is normally set to becomes changed accidentally. Make sure the dial hasn't been set to a warmer temperature. Adjust the dial to see if it makes a difference.

It's Over-Freezing If you find that your milk and vegetables are frozen inside of your refrigerator, it definitely isn't normal. The temperature inside is just too low. Try adjusting the dial to a higher temperature to see if it does the trick. If you don't notice a significant difference after doing so, it's time to call a repairman.
